Create a menu item
To create a new menu item node:
Open the Menu Builder.
Open the subtree of a popup menu node (or toolbar node), and select the position for the new menu item.
From the Edit menu, select Insert - Popup Menu
.
Specify the name for the new popup menu.
Press the
<Enter>
key (or press the<Esc>
key to abort the operation).
After you have created the menu item node, you can define the specific command for this menu item using the Properties dialog box.
Press the
<Enter>
key again, to open the Properties dialog box.Select the Actions tab, and specify the specific action(s) for this menu item.
Note
If you insert an ampersand character (’&’) in the name of the menu (for example: &Open), then the character directly following this ampersand is used as a shortcut key and is underlined in the menu (for example: Open). If the menu item is part of a popup menu, and that popup menu is currently displayed, then you can simply press the corresponding key on your keyboard to execute the menu item command. If you do not specify a shortcut character yourself, then by default, the first character is used as the shortcut key. If the shortcut keys in one popup menu are not unique, then pressing the key will select the first menu item that matches the key, without executing the command.
